TRIPLE CO-CHAIRMANSHIP OF OSCE MINSK GROUP HAS BEEN QUITE EFFECTIVE
YEREVAN, April 2. /Mediamax/. The triple co-chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group has been quite effective, despite the apprehensions, the U.S. Senior State Department Official said at a special briefing in Washington.
He said the decision of the triple co-chairmanship was a "unique" one, because what it has done is it has marshalled the resources of three very significant players in the international arenas (Russia, USA, France), three permanent members of the UN Security Council, countries with significant political, economic and military clout to help work to advance this peace process.
"We have seen in the Middle East and Northern Ireland and Cyprus how hard it can be to move forward these delicate processes. But we see an opportunity in the situation regarding Nagorno-Karabakh to be able to move ahead," the American diplomat said. .--0--
