Armenia interested in Turkey's success on its road to EU accessionMarch 17, 2011 - 18:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said that Armenia is rather interested in Turkey's success on its road to EU accession. "We are interested in having neighbors with developed market rules and democracy, which observe European values, as it will contribute to security in the region, thus, creating more favorable conditions for Armenia's development," Sargsyan told the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs in Belgium on March 18. According to Sargsyan, Armenia's policy in this direction remained unchanged for 20 years along with Armenia's willingness to establish diplomatic relations with Turkey without preconditions, the RA governmental press service reported. This is proved by the signing of protocols in Switzerland, as well as Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan's statement that Armenia is ready to ratify them, for which the Armenian Constitutional Court gave a positive conclusion. "Unfortunately, you see that Turkey faces serious pressure, and it is not ready to establish relations with Armenia without preconditions yet," concluded Sargsyan.
