ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS OF TENDER FOR PRIVATISATION OF ARMENIAN POWER DISTRIBUTIVE NETWORKS MAY BE POSTPONED FOR 10-15 DAYS
YEREVAN, March 27. /Mediamax/. The Minister for Energy of Armenia Karen Galustian did not exclude that the date of announcement of winners of the tender for privatization of the Armenian power distributive networks may be postponed for 10-15 days.
The Minister said in his interview to the Armenia TV company that till March 23 the tender committee was considering the applications of companies participating in the tender. According to Galustian, the committee has received a suggestion to postpone the date of announcement of winners of the tender for 10-15 days in order to give the companies time for "better preparation." He did not say who was the author of the suggestion. Karen Galustian said that presently the committee was considering the possibility of postponing the date of the tender, but the final decision would be adopted by the Armenian government.
The Armenian Minister for Energy also noted that if the committee was not satisfied by the terms of participants of the tender, it will be stopped and a new tender will be announced. Commenting on the information about the possible refusal of the AES Silk Road American company and the ABB Swiss-Sweden company to participate in the tender, Galustian said that the tender committee had not received official applications from them.
The winners of the tender are supposed to be announced on March 29. Three companies take part in the tender. the AES Silk Road American company, ABB Swiss-Sweden company and the Union Fenosa Spanish company. --0--
