Turkey, Russia to launch visa-free regime April 16

An agreement on cancellation of visa regime between Russia and Turkey enters into force on April 16, 2011, Russian Foreign Ministry Information and Press Department reported.

The agreement, signed on March 12 in Ankara, enables visa-free travel within 30 days of the entry date.

However, citizens, planning a stay, exceeding 30 days to work or study on the territory of other state must have visas.

Holders of diplomatic passports may enter the countries without visas in accordance with Russia-Turkey intergovernmental agreement of November 5, 1999.
