AGREEMENT ON ESTABLISHING FRIENDLY AND FRATERNAL RELATIONS BETWEEN YEREVAN AND KIEV IS SIGNED IN UKRAINIAN CAPITAL
YEREVAN, March 2. /Mediamax/. Friendly and fraternal relations between Armenian and Ukrainian capitals - Yerevan and Kiev are established. The Mayor of Yerevan, Robert Nazarian and the Mayor of Kiev Alexander Omelchenko signed this agreement on Thursday in the Ukrainian capital.
As Mediamax was informed in the Ukrainian embassy in Armenia, the document envisages, in particular, the establishment of favorable conditions for joint industrial, business, commercial activity of the companies to maximally use their possibilities in the production of competitive industrial goods and services.
The opening of Kiev's and Yerevan's Trade houses as joint enterprises in the Armenian and Ukrainian capitals respectively is also planned.
Kiev and Yerevan expressed willingness to promote the development of cooperation and friendly relations between them and other members-cities of the Parliamentary Assembly of Black Sea Economic Cooperation to consolidate peace and stability.
According to Mr. Omelchenko, Armenia and the Ukraine have passed a long and uneasy road to obtain independence and the friendship between the both states has been proved during the elimination of consequences of the accident at Chernobyl Nuclear Energy plant and of natural cataclysms in Armenia.
The Mayor of Kiev gave a certificate of honorable guest and citizen of Kiev to the President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian.
In his turn President Kocharian expressed confidence that the cooperation between Ukraine an Armenia, as well as their capitals, has great perspectives. "A friend in need is a friend indeed, but let us better be friends not waiting for it", Armenian president said. --0--
