COURT DECIDED TO EXAMINE THE TERRORISTS' LEADER NAIRI HUNANIAN SEPARATELY
YEREVAN, February 28. /Mediamax/. Court of fist instance of Yerevan "Kentron" and "Nork-Marash" districts, on which Judge Samvel Uzunian presided, decided today to examine the main accused of the October 27, 1999 terrorist act in the Armenian parliament, Nairi Hunanian separately.
Thus the court complied with the solicitation of lawyer Tigran Janoyan, who presents the interests of the relatives of Armenian Prime Minister Vazgen Sarkisian, killed in the parliament as a result of the terrorist act. Janoyan thinks Hunanian has great influence upon the other terrorists. And the "exceptional need" for examining Hunanian separately is caused by this very fact, Janoyan said.
The state prosecutor and lawyers of other victims supported the solicitation, while the accused and their lawyers voiced protest against this decision.
The trial over the executors of the October 27, 1999 terrorist act in the Armenian parliament, as a result of which the Prime Minister, the speaker and two vice-speakers of the National Assembly, deputies and government officials were killed, started in Yerevan on February 15. --0--
