Georgia has more to lose than gain by recognizing Armenian Genocide, expert says

Georgia has more to lose than gain by recognizing the Armenian Genocide, according to a historical sciences candidate, expert Tamara Vardanyan.

The expert is sceptical over the possibility of Georgia’s recognizing the Genocide.

“By recognizing the Genocide, Georgia will alienate 10% of Muslim population of the country. Georgia views Turkey as a strategic partner, with the relations between the countries developing in all sectors,” she remarked.

As the expert noted, unprecedented growth in Turkish –Azerbaijani capital was reported, thus rendering Georgia more dependant on these countries.
