Armenians, Azerbaijanis clash in Tver, Russia

Representatives of Armenian and Azerbaijani Diasporas clashed in the Russian city of Tver on April 24.

As the sources from law-enforcement agencies reported, an exchange of fire was not a criminal shoot-out. The conflict, involving 60 people, was triggered by national hatred. As a result of the conflict, 7 people were taken to hospital with injuries. 23 participants of the skirmish were conveyed to a police department. Currently, police patrols are guarding the streets.

A criminal case may be initiated, Rosbalt reported.

April 24 is a commemoration day for the victims of 1915 Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
