Foreign Ministry: cooperation with Japan important for ArmeniaMay 4, 2011 - 14:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Hisashi Tokunaga. Mr. Nalbnadian expressed his condolence over recent disasters in Japan, with Mr. Tokunaga thanking Armenia for participation in liquidation of the catastrophe consequences. As the Foreign Minister stated, the development of cooperation with Japan is an important direction in Armenia’s foreign policy. The parties emphasized the dynamic development of bilateral ties, noting that the opening of Armenian embassy in Japan gave further impetus to strengthening of relations. The parties further focused on bilateral issues, relations within the framework of international structures, UN reforms. Mr. Nalbandian briefed Mr. Tokunaga on Armenia’s approach to the settlement of regional issues, Armenian Foreign Ministry’s press office reported.
