Ukraine assumes CoE Committee of Ministers chairmanship

Ukraine will take over the chairmanship of the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers from Turkey for the next six months on Wednesday, May 11.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryshchenko will present the priorities of his country's chairmanship at the 121st meeting of the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the Council of Europe's 47 member states in Istanbul, Turkey. Ukraine has identified the following priorities for its chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers: child protection, execution of rulings of the European Court of Human Rights, improving the system of local self-government and defending the rights of persons with disabilities, nrcu.gov.ua reported.
