Armenian grandmaster Elina Danielyan defeated Hoang Thanh Trang (Hungary) in the 8th round of the European Individual Women Chess Championships to climb to the 3rd position with 6 points. Danielyan is half a point behind the leader, Victoria Cmilyte (Lithuania).

Besides, Lilit Mkrtchyan, Nelli Aghinyan and Maria Gevorgyan celebrated victories over Miranda Mikadze, Nani Unapkoshvili and Tamar Khmiadashvili (all from Georgia) respectively.
