ONE CAN'T SAY THAT "DASHNAKTSUTIUN" PARTY COMES TO POWER IN ARMENIA, VICE SPEAKER OF ARMENIAN PARLIAMENT STATED
23.01.2001, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. "I don't share the opinion that Dashnaktsutiun party comes to power in Armenia," vice speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Tigran Torosian stated today at a press conference in Yerevan.
According to him, there aren't sufficient grounds for such assertions. "If the appointment of a member of Dashnaktsutiun a minister is characterized as "coming to power", then, following this logic, we may say that in the course of the last year the Communist Party was at power in Armenia", Torosian said.
The vice-speaker noted that thinks the appointment of David Lokian as the minister of urban development to be a reasonable step on the part of the government. "Especially when lately Dashnaktsutiun mainly supported the initiatives and decisions of the government", the vice-speaker said. --0--
