Stepanakert airport to meet international standards and security norms

The airport in Artsakh capital will meet international standards and security norms, according to Stepanakert Mayor.

As Vazgen Mikaelyan stated in an interview to Echo of Moscow radio station, the airport will be operating in the same manner it did in the 1980s, performing Stepanakert-Yerevan internal flights.

“The opening of an airport is a necessity, with flights to facilitate travel opportunities both for Artsakh residents and guests of the country. I don’t believe that it runs counter to international norms,” the Mayor stressed, adding that every possible measure will be taken to secure normal operation of the facility.
