STATEMENTS OF NKR PRESIDENT ARKADY GHUKASIAN READ OUT AT COURT SESSION IN NKR

At January 16 court session of the case of the terrorist act against NKR President Arkady Ghukasian testimonies of the main victims, President Arkady Ghukasian and his bodyguard driver Sergey Sarkisian, given in March 2000, were read out in Stepanakert, the correspondent of Mediamax reports from Stepanakert.

As Arkady Ghukasian stated, the very first shots at his car wounded him in the feet, and unless he lay down on the seat, he could have got new injuries because of uninterrupted machine gun firing. According to the testimony, the terrorists began shooting after the car with other bodyguards, which preceded the presidential one, had passed by.

Bodyguard driver Sergey Sarkisian said he lost consciousness being seriously wounded after the very first shots, due to which the presidential car hit a tree. -0-
