World renowned genocide expert, presidential award laureate Dr. Israel Charny issued a statement to thank Armenian people and President Serzh Sargsyan for the award extended in recognition of his struggle against genocide denial.

As the statement notes, the world must recognize the Armenian Genocide and commemorate the innocent victims of this crime against humanity. “Much is yet to be done for this purpose,” the expert stressed, adding, “our struggle is now to be aimed at prevention of new genocides.”

“Genocide is a global issue,” Dr. Charny said, urging struggle against those who deny the crimes against humanity.
