ANC: preparation for basic agreement on Karabakh to start soon

ANC representative David Shahnazaryan said principles for the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement will be adopted either in Kazan or during the next meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents.

“The move will be followed by preparations for a comprehensive agreement,” Shahnazaryan told a press conference in Yerevan on June 2.

Commenting on RPA parliamentary group Gagik Minasyan’s statement that the proposed agreement is more pro-Armenian, judging from Ilham Aliyev’s reaction after the trilateral meeting, Shahnazaryan said ironically: “One should not make conclusions based on Aliyev’s Pavlovian reactions.”

According to him, it is evident that no document on the Karabakh conflict settlement can be pro-Armenian or pro-Azerbaijani.

Shahnazaryan added that it will be difficult for Armenia, Azerbaijan and NKR to adopt the settlement plan suggested by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmen.

“The leaders of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries believe there will be no problems with Serzh Sargsyan, but they are uncertain about Ilham Aliyev with respect to it,” he concluded.
