TWO RUSSIAN TV CHANNELS MAY STOP BROADCASTING IN ARMENIA IN LATE JANUARY
28.12.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The broadcast of two Russian TV channels - RTR and ORT at meter frequency in Armenia may be stopped at the end of January, an informed source in the government of Armenia told Mediamax.
This is caused by the lack of financial means for providing the broadcasting of the two Russian channels on the territory of Armenia. At the same time ORT and RTR will keep broadcasting at decimeter frequency, as the Russian NTV and TV-6 companies do, the source said.
The vacated meter waves are likely to be occupied by Armenian private TV companies, the source told Mediamax. -0-
