REALIZATION OF IRAN-ARMENIA GAS PIPELINE PROJECT WILL CONSIDERABLY INCREASE ARMENIA'S ROLE IN THE REGION
26.12.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The realization of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline project "will considerably increase our role in the region", Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian said today at a press conference in Yerevan.
The project works are already accomplished, and the pipeline construction is planned for 2001. Oskanian singled out the fact that economic cooperation between Armenia and Iran obtains more serious shapes; a number of big investment projects are being considered at present.
Armenian-Iranian inter-governmental committee will meet in winter 2001 in Yerevan. Oskanian also said he is going to visit Iran in winter 2001. "Besides, we are working consistently to organize mutual visits of higher levels in 2001 ", Armenian Foreign Minister noted. -0-
