Remittances to Armenia totaled USD 357mln in Jan-Apr 2011

Remittances at the amount of $357mln were received by physical persons in Armenia in January-April 2011.

According to the CBA monthly bulletin, the figure increased by 23.8% ($68.5mln) compared to the same period in 2010.

Besides, 13.6% growth was recorded in the amount of remittances from Armenia, totaling $73.3mln in January-April 2011 against $64.5mln during the same period in 2010.

The net cash inflow increased by 26.7% during the reporting period, amounting to $283.7mln against $224mln in January-April 2011. The largest amount of remittances was received from Russia ($242.9mln), followed by the U.S. ($14.5mln) and Kazakhstan ($5.3mln).
