Arabo member calls Shahumyan population bombing in 1992 genocide

What was done to Armenian population of Artsakh's Shahumyan region in 1992 is nothing but genocide, according to Arabo detachment member.

“Azerbaijan never stops referring to a so-called ‘Khojalu genocide’, however, no one ever mentions what happened to Shahumyan's population of 13000 people. The town was bombed at nights, when the innocent people were sleeping,” Hakob Hakobyan told a news conference in Yerevan.

“Were we supported from the rear, the fall of Shahumyan would have been avoided,” he stressed.

June 13 marks the 19th anniversary of the Shahumyan region occupation by Azerbaijan, which left 21000 Armenian refugees homeless.
