Edward Nalbandian shares impression on Kazan meeting with Celeste WallanderJune 27, 2011 - 19:27 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On June 27, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia/Ukraine/Eurasia Celeste Wallander, according to the RA Foreign Ministry press office. During the meeting Nalbandian highly praised friendly relations between Armenia and the United States expressing confidence that bilateral cooperation between the two countries will develop. Wallander, in her turn, noted that U.S. will continue to support Armenia’s efforts in the issue of maintenance of peace, development of military education and conduction of reforms in defense sector. The collocutors also discussed issues related to Armenia-NATO cooperation, as well as Armenian peacemakers’ participation at international operations. The parties touched upon the regional issues. In this connection the head of Armenian foreign Ministry pointed out recent developments in the process of Nagorno Karabakh conflict peaceful settlement, as well as the results of Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents meeting in Kazan. Nalbanian noted that no progress was reached, as, despite the OSCE MG co-chair countries’ efforts, Azerbaijan was not ready to accept the final version of basic principles and presented ten new changes.
