International Police Association Armenian subsidiary formed July 2, 2011 - 14:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan hosted a founding convention of Armenian police, where a resolution on formation of an Armenian subsidiary of International Police Association (IPA) was passed. IPA President Michael Odysseos, Secretary General George Katsaropoulos; Russian Police Association President Alexey Gankin were invited as honorary guests. As the head of IPA Armenian subsidiary Grigory Sargsyan told journalists, in near future, Armenian subsidiary will stay affiliated with the Russian Police Association, with full IPA membership to be discussed at Israel-hosted summit in 2012. As Sargsyan noted, IPA membership will help Armenia protect the rights of its citizens in countries which have no diplomatic relations with Armenia. Armenia will become the 63rd IPA member; 125 policemen are currently affiliated with IPA Armenian subsidiary.
