As was reported to Mediamax in the OSCE press service, this said the foreign minister of Azerbaijan Vilayat Guliyev at the OSCE Foreign Ministerial Council in Vienna.
Guliyev called to Armenia to return the occupied territories and to normalize relations with Azerbaijan. "Resolution of the conflict on the basis of conferring the highest degree of self-rule upon the Nagorno-Karabakh region within the Republic of Azerbaijan and co-existence of Armenian and Azerbaijani populations there, will pave the way to the restoration of cooperation between Armenia and Azerbaijan and ensurance of peace ad stability in the South Caucasus", Guliyev said.
The Azeri Foreign Minister also said that the soonest settlement of the conflict must become one of the major priorities for the OSCE. "We expect a decisive contribution to be made in this regard by Romanian Chairmanship, presiding in the OSCE in 2001", Vilayat Guliyev noted. -0-
