Sargis Yeghiazaryan becomes double world karate champion

Sargis Yeghiazaryan from Rostov-on-Don, Russia, has become double world karate champion.

The city’s PeresvetFT team returned from the 2nd World Shotokan Karate Championship which was held in Moscow on July 1-3, 2011 with 5 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze medals.

“It was extremely difficult, specifically in the final, when we had to rival a very strong team from Azerbaijan. Nevertheless, we managed to concentrate and win,” Miasin.ru quoted Yeghiazaryan as saying.

The Championship brought together participants from more than 50 countries.
