Iran: regional countries can make great economic progress

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast has said that the regional countries with their huge potentials and resources will be able to make great economic progress, Fars News Agency reported.

"We believe that countries of the region such as Iran, Turkey, Iraq, Syria and other states with high economic potentials could see economic boom in the region," Mehmanparast said, adding that Iran's principled policy is based on expansion of relations with neighboring and other regional states.

Speaking to reporters in Shiraz, he said the move could leave positive impacts on stability and security of the region and Iran welcomes broadening of relations with other states.

On regional developments and people's demands for getting their legitimate rights, he said that people's demands should be addressed properly and the regional countries should avoid suppressing their nations through military means.

On Iran-Turkey relations, he said, “The two countries are now regarded as two powerful countries that can leave vital impacts on regional developments and both sides should strive more for brighter future.”
