Gmail changes inbox design

Gmail is rolling out several new inbox styles to help users manage their mail in the way that works best for them.

Users can easily choose a style from the tabs at the top of their inbox. There are 5 styles: Classic which is the default inbox style most people are used to. In the Classic inbox, messages are ordered chronologically, with most recent email at the top. Then comes Priority Inbox. At this style important and unread messages appear at the top of inbox. Another style is Important first which puts important mail at the top of the page (both read and unread messages). Then there are Unread first and Starred first styles: unread mail at the top; everything else at the bottom or Starred messages at the top; everything else at the bottom.

The inbox style may be changed from the drop down menu next to the Inbox label or from the Settings page.
