In near future ArmenTel plans to introduce VHDSL up-to date technology. At July 8 news conference in Yerevan, ArmenTel CEO Igor Klimko, however, did not provide specific date for technology launch.

Very-high-bitrate DSL (VDSL or VHDSL) is a DSL technology providing faster data transmission over a single flat untwisted or twisted pair of copper wires and on coaxial cable.

According to Klimko, ArmenTel won’t be using fiber-optic connection technologies in the last mile for safety reasons.

The "last mile" or "last kilometer" is the final leg of delivering connectivity from a communications provider to a customer.
