ARMENIA AND GREECE DISCUSSED ISSUES ON INTERACTION ON THE EVE OF OSCE MINISTERIAL MEETING IN VIENNE
23.11.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. "At the meeting with the Foreign Minister of Greece we discussed issues covering our cooperation at the OSCE ministerial meeting to be held in Vienna on November 27-28," the Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian said in Athens.
The Armenian Foreign Minister stressed that the problem of peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict will become one of the themes to be discussed at the OSCE Ministerial Meeting.
According to Oskanian the possible activation of Armenia-European Union relations was also be touched upon during the meeting with Papandreou. The Foreign Minister said that today, when the issue of Armenia's membership to the Council of Europe is solved, Yerevan intends to discuss ways of its further engagement to the European structures.
The agreement on partnership and cooperation between the European Union and the States of South Caucasus has come into force on July 1 of 1999. Then the head of the delegation of the European Commission to Armenia Ambassador Dennis Corboy stated in Yerevan that "in 10 years the borders of the European Union will possibly be expanded to South Caucasus." --0--
