6,6% unemployment rate in Armenia reported in 1st halfyear of 2011

As of July 1, unemployment rate in Armenia decreased by 0,4% to comprise 6,6%, according to Armenian Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Artur Grigoryan.

As he noted on July 25 at governmental press center, “increased number of vacancies is explained by the economic growth in January –May 2011.”

According to the Minister, 1814 vacancies were reported as of July 1, exceeding the number of vacancies reported in 2010 by 12,7%. Those employed in 2011, exceeded the number planned by 18,8% to comprise 5641.
