Young grandmaster Robert Hovhannisyan: I'm glad to play along with top rated professionals

PanARMENIAN.Net - The youngest grandmaster in Armenian chess team Robert Hovhannisyan stressed the fact that despite Armenia's not beeing ranked among the top 3 teams at the World Team Chess Championship, Armenia's performance was confident in every match played.

“I'm glad to be playing along with top rated professionals. I still have much to learn,” the 20- year-old grandmaster told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

Hovhannisyan, who played 1 winning match against an Egyptian team member, confessed to having spent a sleepless night before the game. “However, I'd call a round against Azerbaijan the hardest. I'm sure Azeri team was determined to win in a round against us. The round was similarly important to us, as we had much at stake,” Hovhannisyan said.

On July 26, Armenian team won Ningbo- hosted World Team Chess Championship, gaining 14 points in 9 rounds.
