  Defence Ministry: Khachaturov’s statement on liberated territories’ return is misinformation August 8, 2011 - 19:14 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Defence Minister’s spokesman David Karapetyan commented on recent media reports, suggesting Colonel General Yuri Khachaturov, the head of the General Staff of Armenian armed forces made a statement on return of liberated territories. “Media reports are mere misinformation. Karabakh settlement talks are within political, rather than military jurisdiction. The powers of the head of the General Staff of Armenian armed forces are specified in article 14 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia on Defence,” Karapetyan said. As Karapetyan stressed, Colonel General fought in Artsakh war and knows the price of victory all too well. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.
