THE WIFE OF ARRESTED ARKADY VARDANIAN DECLARED THAT THE INITIATORS OF THE RALLY WERE THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE MEETING THEMSELVES

"My husband was not the initiator of yesterday's rally at the residence of the President of Armenia, the participants of the meeting took the decision themselves", told today the journalists Elena Vardanian, the wife of the president of the "21st century" association, the citizen of the Russian Federation Arkady Vardanian, arrested by law-enforcement bodies of Armenia.

By the decision of the court, Arkady Vardanian will spend 10 days in the cell of preliminary imprisonment for organizing unsanctioned rally in central Yerevan. Vardanian's lawyer, Karo Karapetian, who also took part in yesterday's actions, will be imprisoned for 7 days.

On October 30 some thousands of supporters of Arkady Vardanian picketed the residence of the Armenian President Robert Kocharian blocking the traffic in Baghramian Avenue. -0-
