THE U.S. GOVERNMENT AND SELF-GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS OF ARMENIA WILL SIGN A MEMORANDUM OF MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING

PanARMENIAN.Net - 05.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. On October 6 a Memorandum of Mutual Understanding will be signed in Yerevan between the U.S. government and the mayors of 9 cities of Armenia - Gyumri, Vanadzor, Alaverdi, Sevan, Ijevan, Yeghegnadzor, Kapan and Sisian, was reported to MEDIAMAX in the press service of the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan.

The Memorandum will mark the beginning of a $4.2 million USAID program for local self-government institutions. This three-year program aims to assist institutions of local self-government.

The program is managed by "Urban" institute and is one of the assistance programs realized by USAID in Armenia. -0-
