THE DELEGATION OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE WILL VISIT ARMENIA IN SEPTEMBER
29.08.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. In mid-September the delegation of the Council of Europe will visit Armenia, said today the speaker of the National Assembly Armen Khachatrian in the interview to "Hayastani Hanrapetutyun" parliamentary paper.
After the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe approved Armenia's membership in the CE, Armenian officials have repeatedly declared that this decision will be confirmed by the Council of Ministers of CE already in September 2000. It's not excluded that the upcoming visit of the delegation of the Council of Europe will be held in this very connection.
Mr. Khachatrian also said that speakers of Syrian and Polish parliaments will visit Armenia in October.
The plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), the chairmanship of which holds Armenia at present, will take place on November 28-30 in Yerevan. -0-
