ARMENIAN MILITARY DENIES INFORMATION OF GEORGIAN MASS MEDIA THAT ARMENIAN ARMORED TECHNIQUES ARE REPAIRED IN GEORGIA
25.08.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Lieutenant-General Mikael Harutiunian, the head of the headquarters of the Armenian Armed Forces, denied the information of the Georgian mass media that Armenia repairs its battle tanks and other armored techniques at a Russian munition factory in Tbilisi. General Harutiunian told the journalists that Armenia has never sent its armored technique to Georgia for repairs as "for that Yerevan has its own equipment that doesn't yield to the Russian ones".
The Georgian Prime News and Caucasus Press news agencies have recently reported that three Armenian tanks are being repaired at the Russian factory in Georgia at present. The Georgian mass media also claimed that Armenia might experience serious difficulties with maintaining the combat-readiness of its army after the pullout of the Russian troops from Georgia. -0-
