Armenian Public Council debates changes in tax, customs sectors

The Public Council of Armenia hosted a discussion on planned changes in tax and customs sectors, envisaged by 2012 state budget.

According to Council chairman Vazgen Manukyan, the package of legislative amendments is subject to change so, similarly, only preliminary discussion on the issue will be held.

The head of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia Vazgen Safaryan, in turn, noted that AMD 101 bln increase of budget revenue through upping taxation is envisaged. “Today, we’d like to consult experts to find out about possible influence of the amendments on the development of Armenian economy,” he noted.
