A NUMBER OF INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENTS WILL BE SIGNED IN THE COURSE OF THE VISIT OF THE PRIME MINISTER OF ARMENIA TO BELARUS
19.07.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. A number of intergovernmental agreements will be signed in the course of the visit of the Prime Minister of Armenia Andranik Margarian to Belarus, which starts today, on July 19.
As was reported to MEDIAMAX in the press service of the government of Armenia, agreements on avoiding double taxing, on mutual assistance and
cooperation in the field of tax legislation, cooperation in finance and banking fields, on social security of the citizens working temporarily outside their countries, economic and scientific-technical cooperation in the field of agricultural-industrial complex are supposed to be signed in particular.
As the Prime Minister of Armenia Andranik Margarian declared in the interview to "Sovetskaya Belarus" paper, neither Yerevan nor Minsk is satisfied with the current economic relations, in connection with which the necessity of creating a legal basis for the activation of economic cooperation is increasing. According to Margarian, Armenia can export electrical-technical appliances, rubber, and foodstuffs to Belarus.
During the visit, which will last until July 20, the meetings of Andranik Margarian with the president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and the prime minister Vladimir Yermoshin will be held. Besides, the Armenian Prime Minister will visit the CIS Executive Secretariat, "BelResursi" concern, "Belkomunmash" union and the Minsk tractor works. Andranik Margarian will also hold meetings with the representatives of the business circles of Belarus.
"Armenia is not going to join the Russia-Belarus Union", declared the Prime Minister of Armenia Andranik Margarian in the interview to Belarus journalists on July 18. According to the Prime Minister of Armenia, Yerevan can develop its relations with these countries within the CIS frameworks, where "not all the possibilities are being used". -0-
