Kiev to host Euro 2012 draw ceremony for the finals, Dec. 2

PanARMENIAN.Net - On December 2, 2011, the draw ceremony for the finals of Euro 2012 under the slogan "Creating history together" will be held in the Ukrainian capital. The event, which will take place within the walls of Palace Ukraine concert hall, will begin at 19:00 Ukrainian time. The capital of Ukraine is being decorated for the holiday. The costs in the development and production of materials for the design of Kyiv will be covered by UEFA. The head of the Local Organizing Committee, Markiyan Lubkivskyi, said in comments to the Information Centre Ukraine-2012 that about 700 official guests - senior football functionaries, representatives of football federations and European governments, representatives of host countries and host cities, football stars and famous personalities, have been invited to the ceremony. "The draw ceremony is the largest of the pre-tournament measures for Euro 2012.

UEFA wants to convey the national spirit of Poland and Ukraine to viewers around the world, to present the host cities of the tournament in the light of the forthcoming football festival. Therefore, the ceremony will be broadcast live by the world's leading television companies and holders of the rights to show matches of UEFA Euro 2012. The broadcast will last 52 minutes. In addition, there will be over 500 accredited media representatives from around the world at the event", said Markiyan Lubkivskyi. Another event during the draw will be the presentation of the official ball for the finals of the tournament. In addition to the draw ceremony spectators will see a lasting and impressive multimedia show with the participation of Ukrainian and foreign artists.

According to the tournament director, on December 2 there will be a kind of rehearsal before the final part of the tournament, a demonstration of team spirit and good cooperation of all members of the working process for the project's preparation. The ceremony will involve 15 buses and 77 cars as well as 270 volunteers in the transporting of guests.
