UNESCO Director-General, Irina Bokova will open the third session of the Conference of Parties to the International Convention against Doping in Sport, which is held from November 14 to 16 at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.

Irina Bokova encourages States Parties to implement the Anti-Doping Convention and formalize anti-doping rules for all athletes. She also highlights the role of education in the fight against doping in sport focusing on young people today and tomorrow.

Representatives from States Parties to the Convention and from national anti-doping organizations will discuss, among other themes, the administration of the Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport. On this occasion, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) will present its report on the implementation of the World Anti-Doping Code, UNESCO website reported.
