Parliament speaker candidacy not discussed yet – RPA member

PanARMENIAN.Net - The candidacy of the speaker of Armenian National Assembly hasn’t been discussed at the sitting of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), a ruling party member stated.

As Gagik Melikyan told a news conference in Yerevan, “any reference to possible candidacies would be inappropriate before the actual discussion.”

On November 1, parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan announced his resignation to head RPA electoral headquarters and more effectively conduct the campaign.

The head of Armenian delegation to PACE Davit Harutyunyan and vice RA NA speaker Samvel Nikoyan are rumored as possible candidacies for speaker’s post.
