  Akhtamar’s Holy Cross Church slightly damaged from the quake  November 17, 2011 - 18:21 AMTPanARMENIAN.Net - Holy Cross Church in Akhtamar near the province of Van was slightly damaged as a result of several earthquakes that struck Turkey, Turkish Haberler reports. According to engineer-constructor Adnan-Vural, quakes have caused several cracks in the dome. The November 9 earthquake in southeast Turkey killed 40 people, bringing the death toll in two tremors over the last three weeks to 644. On Oct. 23, a 7.2-magnitude quake hit the province of Van, killing 605 people and injuring 4152. 188 people were pulled out alive from the rubble. In 2023, the Azerbaijani government will increase the country’s defense budget by more than 1.1 billion manats ($650 million). The bill, published on Monday, is designed to "eliminate the shortcomings of an unreasonably broad interpretation of the key concept of "compatriot". The earthquake caused a temporary blackout, damaged many buildings and closed a number of rural roads.
