Tigran Davtyan: tourism may ensure significant revenues

Armenia still has a great deal of work to do to boost tourist inflow, RA Minister of Economy said.

“First of all this implies establishment of appropriate infrastructures, such as airport, hotels and roads. There is significant progress in this field,” Tigran Davtyan said during Nov. 28 meeting with representatives of tourism industry.

In this context, Minister Davtyan noted that Armenia has good hotels chains and can boast of an airport as best in the region.

“Negotiations are currently conducted with other leading brands; roads are being repaired,” he said, adding that Armenia should double its efforts to be competitive in the global market, as tourism may ensure significant revenues.
