System Of A Down, the well-known American band, has called on its fans and supporters to strive for the US Congress passing a legislation recognizing the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey. As reported by the Armenian National Committee of America, in a letter sent to hundreds of thousands of System fans, band leader Serj Tankian called on the band's supporters to address Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert to encourage them both to include the resolution on recognition of the Armenian Genocide of 1915 in the Congress agenda. It should be noted that System Of a Down was nominated for "Grammy" musical award in "Best Rock Group" category in 2003.
