RPA calls not to politicize Prosperous Armenia members’ arrests

Deputy Chairman of ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Razmik Zohrabyan refuted media reports regarding pressure piled by government on Prosperous Armenia coalition party given recent arrests of several party members.

“These arrests have no political background,” Zohrabyan said adding that RPA and Prosperous Armenia Party remain coalition partners.

Recently a number of Prosperous Armenia members were detained for drug trafficking, including head of the party’s Jermuk division Armen Hovhannisyan.

As for arrests of Armen Muradyan and Masis town administration employee Artur Ghazaryan, Prosperous Armenia party’s press service denied their being PAP members.
