ANC member dubs ruling coalition political nonsense

PanARMENIAN.Net - A member of Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc dubbed the country’s ruling coalition political nonsense.

As David Shahnazaryan told a news conference in Yerevan, in no other country would the party with the majority of parliamentary seats form a coalition.

As the oppositionist noted, the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) only needs the coalition to shift part of its responsibilities on other political forces.

“All of former and current coalition members, except Heritage, have responsibilities on their shoulders, but also cushy positions, and therefore, shared values,” he noted.

Current ruling coalition was formed in March 2008 to unite RPA, Prosperous Armenia, Orinats Yerkir and ARF Dashnaktsutyun. In April 2009, ARFD left the coalition, protesting against signing of Armenian-Turkish Protocols.
