The EU intends to form new combined approaches toward the three countries of the South Caucasus, Gunter Verheugen, EU Commissioner for Enlargement, said at a meeting with Armenian President Robert Kocharian in Brussels yesterday. G. Verheugen reported his intention to visit Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan in 2004. After the visit, in his words, the European Commission will pass a political decision and announce its new combined approaches towards those three countries. Gunter Verheugen and Robert Kocharian also discussed Armenia's relations with neighbor countries and regional cooperation opportunities in the South Caucasus, "Mediamax" agency reported.
