RANGE OF DOCUMENTS ON ARMENIAN-TAJIK COOPERATION SIGNED IN YEREVAN
Resulting from Armenian-Tajik negotiations, held yesterday within the framework of visit of Tajik president Emomali Rakhmonov to Yerevan, a number of bilateral documents was singed. Specifically, the parties signed inter-governmental agreements "on mutual protection of secret information," "on cooperation in science, engineering and information" and "on cooperation in seismic protection." A joint statement of presidents of Armenia and Tajikistan, passed yesterday, specifically expresses satisfaction with the level of bilateral interaction in various fields and with stability of political relations. The state leaders emphasized the importance of enlarging bilateral cooperation in the commercial and economic sphere and said it was necessary for the Armenian-Tajik inter-governmental commission on economic cooperation to commence work. The commission first sitting is planned for February 2004.
