Economy Minister dubs 2011 successful year

2011 was quite a successful year, according to Armenian Economy Minister.

“Based on 2011 outcomes, 5,5% economic activity index is expected, with growth already observed in all economy sectors except for construction,” Tigran Davtyan said.

According to Economy Minister, 13-14% growth in industry sector has been recorded for the reporting period, with industry volume totaling AMD 900 bln.

Dwelling on other indices, Minister Davtyan noted 10% growth in service sector, with export growth grossing 34,6% within the past eleven months, while increase in investment flow into the country’s economy totaled 23,4%.

Reflecting on inflation index, Tigran Davtyan noted that the figure will be presented early next year, whereas the rate apparently subsided by yearend against the high inflation pressure at the beginning of the year.
