Armenia’s diamond processing sector, which has seen a dramatic slump in crisis period, is showing signs of recovery, according to Economy Minister.

As Tigran Davtyan told a news conference in Yerevan, previously, Russian Alrosa company used to supply rough diamonds to 1 Armenian company only. Now, however, the Russian supplier cooperates with 10 local companies.

As the Minister stated, in 2011, Alrosa supplied USD 40 mln worth of rough diamonds to Armenian manufacturers, with the figure planned to be increased to USD 50 mln next year.
