Heritage, ARFD call for shift to proportional voting system

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today, December 27, Heritage and ARF Dashnaksutyun opposition parties issued a joint statement claiming authorities to drop majority election system and shift to 100 % proportional voting one.

According to parliamentary opposition, “authorities, agreeing to the step, will express their readiness and political will to boost atmosphere of social tolerance and consent along with the opposition.”

The parties noted that proportional voting system will ensure equal competition for the political forces, expanding their public responsibility, reducing the impact of both political and electoral factors on election process.

Heritage and ARF Dashnaksutyun parties’ joint statement called on all political forces to support the initiative.
